Talk about Salzburg, let us recall the movie; Sound of Music. I did not watch this show though, anyway it is not in my generation... lol....
We leave Munich earlier to Salzburg, going to be a 2 hours train ride. Getting ticket at the main station is as easy as a pie. Could be the holiday season is over, everybody get back to work... Great!!!
Not long after, we have reach Salzburg Hbf... Weather is not as cold as Zurich and Munich.
Our accommodation in Altstadthotel Kasererbraeu is very welcoming, welcome drink are served when we settling our check-in documentation. Location is centralize and hotel is pleasant. Walking distance to Old Town is the most important.

Day 7:
Will be collecting a wagon from
Buchbinder; one of the biggest car rental company in Austria. We book the car online and plan to collect from Salzburg and return in Vienna. Alternatively can compare price in
Rentalcars website. While everybody are still under their warm blanket, I proceed to collect the car alone. Anyway, I prefer that, cause my walking pace is much faster.
  |
Notice a street market while walking to the car rental company. All businesses are operated in a modified van. High mobility. |
First destination for our driving trip in Austria will be Hallstatt...
Hallstatt is a village on Lake Hallstatt, in a mountainous region in Western Austria. Its antique Alpine houses are home to cafes and shops... Lake reflects the image of the Alpine houses have the fairy-tale feel...

You can find a Hallstatt viewing platform at 25-mins drive from the town.
When we were there, it is slightly snowed. Viewing platform might not be open and we does not want waste trip.
