Tallinn, Estonia

We finally reach Helsinki via the night bus ride, and we will be transferring to a 2 hours ferry to Tallinn, the capital and the largest city of Estonia. It retains its walled, cobblestoned Old Town, home to cafes and shops. Its Gothic Town Hall, built in the 13th century and with a 64m-high tower, sits in historic Tallinn’s main square. St. Nicholas Church is a 13th-century landmark exhibiting ecclesiastical art.

Some wefie while waiting for the ferry at Helsinki West Terminal.

Cruise we go... Watching the sunrise at 10am...

Took a short nap during the 2 hours ferry, manage to recuperate from the bus ride last night. There are Uber service in Tallinn and the price is unbelievable. From Ferry Terminal to Old town, about 15mins, cost 3 EUR. We will be putting up in an Airbnb in Tallinn, location is in the middle of the old town.

Polar Explorer - Ice Breaker Cruise, Finland

The title of the cruise tells you everything. Yes, it's job is to cruise around Gulf of Bothnia to break the ice on the ocean to allow the cargo or passenger ship to pass through. The ice will be formed within 1 night, as the weather is so cold. Once the ice are formed and without the help of the ice breaker, shipper will not be able to cruise through Gulf of Bothnia. Mainly for the trading between Sweden and Finland.

From 1980+, it begin to allow tourist on board to witness this fascinating scene. A unique experience to spend our Christmas eve on the Ice Breaker Cruise.

We will be picked up from Rovaniemi Train Station at 0705 hours, and about 3 hours bus journey to reach the port. During this tour, we manage to meet some Singaporean, Malaysian and HongKonger.

"Egg Yolk" break through the ocean of ice

Highlight of this trip - We are going to swim in this freezing cold water...

Special suit that keep us warm and dry, in the water.

Can you find where is Princess?

After the 3 hours cruise, the package include a Finnish buffet lunch, mainly on river trout.

That's all for the trip...

We will be drop off at Kemi Train Station after lunch, we will be taking a night bus to Helsinki from there... So many first experience, and this will be the worst... Stay in the bus for 12 hours; with 30 mins break in every 5 hours ride. It is the only transportation we have, in order to reach Helsinki, as the train system is not operating on 24th and 25th. As for bus, there is only 1 trip. Meaning its either you stay in Rovaniemi for 1 more night or take the night bus to Helsinki...

2 more countries to explore... Stay tune...
